Blind hit and run case solved, accused driver arrested

JAMMU, Nov 26: Chowki Choura Police solved a blind hit and run case with the arrest of accused driver.
As per police sources, on November 23 this year one unknown vehicle hit the driver of truck bearing Registration Number JK02AE-3857 near Mandir Galla, Chowki Choura due to which the driver of the said truck namely Abdul Khaliq, son of Abdul Latief of Maidan tehsil Haveli District Poonch died on spot.
In this regard, a case FIR Number 301/2021 under Sections 279 and 304-A IPC was registered at Police Station Akhnoor and investigation started.
During the course of investigation, a team from Police Post Chowki Choura with the help of technical assistance and eye-witnesses were able to identify and locate the said unknown vehicle.
The Registration Number of the said vehicle was JK11E-9151. Soon after, the owner of the said vehicle was called alongwith said vehicle to Police Post Chowki Choura. With the help of the owner of the said vehicle, the accused driver namely Yougal Kishore, son of Barfi Ram of Taryath District Rajouri was arrested who also confessed to his involvement in the incident.
Further investigation into the case is going on.
The blind hit and run case was solved by Incharge Police Post Chowki Choura Inspector Ankuj Kumar under the supervision of SHO Akhnoor Inspector Hilal Azhar and SDPO Akhnoor Varun Jandial.
SDPO Akhnoor Varun Jandial appealed that whenever any road accident takes place, the victim should be immediately shifted for medical assistance and registration number of the involved vehicles should be noted down. He also appealed to the shopkeepers to install CCTVs cameras for their safety and surveillance.
