Blast in Amritsar, police say no need to panic

AMRITSAR, May 7:

A blast at Heritage Street in Amritsar was reported on Saturday midnight, police said on Sunday.

Punjab police in a tweet said that news related to blasts in Amritsar was going viral on social media, the situation was under control.

Police said that the investigation was on to establish the facts of the incident and there was no need to panic.

Police also urged the citizens to maintain peace & harmony advising all to fact check before sharing.

Sources said that forensic teams have reached the spot. The blast might have occured in a Chimney of a restaurant. Some people were reported injured.

Police also clarified that glass  of windows of some nearby houses have been broken but there was no major damage to buildings. (UNI)
