RAMBAN, Sep 21: Former MLA from Ramban Ashok Kumar along with residents of Janjua village strongly protested against the R&B (PWD) department for giving prejudice treatment in construction of Kundi link road to the people of village Janjua and Hajam mohallas and demanded blacktopping of the Road up to these mohallas.
“The Kundi link road near district headquarters has been constructed along with black topping in front of the affluent people while the rest of the road is in dilapidated condition and even a bicycle cannot traverse through it,” the former MLA alleged.
Ashok further said that the affluent ones along this link road have been disbursed with land compensation and other benefits however, the poor and non-affluent are still running to the concerned departments to make their compensation files for land allotted to link road.
He said these departments are making mockery of Government projects and schemes. “In democracy there should not be any difference between rich and poor. It is a injustice to the people of village Janjua and Hajam mohallas. Government is violating the fundamental rights of social justice,” he said.
The former MLA further said that even in the 21st century people living in the centre of district headquarters are deprived of road. He stressed upon the Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha to direct the concerned authorities to immediately blacktop the Kundi link road up to Janjua and Hajam mohallas along with proper cutting and drainage.
“In addition, this road should be connected to Ramban old-alignment road below to make it a circular road,” he asserted and also demanded proper land compensation to people who are still deprived and helpless.
