BKNSS demands hike in cash relief

JAMMU, Sept 13: Bhai Kanahiyaji Nishkam Seva Society (BKNSS) has urged upon the Government to provide Rs 10 lakh cash relief to the families of those killed and Rs 2 lakh each to those injured during recent rains and flood in the State.
In  a meeting of the Society and other Sikh bodies held here today under the chairmanship of Mohinder Singh (president), the speakers urged upon the Government to enhance cash relief from Rs 2 lakh to Rs 10 lakh for the kin of the deceased persons. They said the injured be provided Rs 2 lakh as the present amount fixed was not sufficient. They also stressed that relief and rescue work be intensified.
They also lauded the efforts of Mahant Manjit Singh of Dera Nagnali Sahib and SGPC Amaritsar (Golden Temple)  for providing relief in Poonch, Rajouri, Jammu and Kashmir areas for the flood and rain affected needy people. They said the Ministers, MPs, MLAs  and bureaucrats should also donate their one month’s  salary to the PM’s  Relief  Fund for the flood affected people
