KATHUA, Feb 7: Former minister and president, District Congress Committee (DCC) Kathua, Dr Manohar Lal Sharma today alleged that BJP Govt’s wrong policies are responsible for rising unemployment in the country.
While addressing public meeting at Mandli in Billawar today, Sharma called the BJP Government at the Centre a “flop show” for not living up to the promises of generating employment in the country and said BJP has failed to create jobs. He alleged that India has seen the highest rate of unemployment since 35 years.
Manohar Lal further stated that India’s unemployment rate rose to a high of 8.48 per cent in October 2019 , up from 7.2 per cent in September as per data from CMIE. The unemployment rate for the month is highest since August 2016, reflecting an overall economic slow down in the country. The unemployment rate in September was 7.16 per cent, while it was 8.19 per cent in August. The last time the unemployment rate was higher in August 2016 at 9.59 per cent.
Sharma said that anti-youth, anti-employment policies of the government are the root cause for all time high unemployment in the country. India has approx. 65% of youth population but 30 % of them are unemployed. He said BJP Govt has failed to provide10 crores jobs that they had promised in their election manifesto and is playing with the future of the youth of the country.
During meeting senior members-Devinder Singh Bindu, Dr Narinder Vaid, Sham Lal Sapolia, Romesh Verma, Bhudhi Singh, Romesh Sharma, Puran Chand, Lal Chand Verma, Master Rashid and Narinder Sharma were also present.
