JAMMU,  Apr 8: Accusing BJP leadership of launching misinformation campaign among the masses in the country, Union Health and Family Welfare Minister and Congress candidate from Udhampur-Doda Lok Sabha seat, Ghulam Nabi Azad today said that BJP’s falsehood exists no where on the ground.
Addressing public meetings during his chopper campaign in remote villages/ towns of  Kilotran,  Bhella, Shiva, Thathri, Malothi and Bhaderwah today, Mr Azad said divisive forces were hell bent on creating chaos and confusion among the people just to grab power. The disinformation campaign launched by top BJP leadership existed no where on the ground. The falsehood spread among the masses will vanish soon and the people would realize the realty. Those who are projecting Modi wave are in fact befooling the public.
While cautioning the people  to remain vigilant against the divisive forces, the Union Minister described the hilly region of Doda-Kishtwar  as miniature of secular India. He said only those countries remain prosperous where secularism exists. He claimed that India is strong due to its secular character and any attempt to damage it will be fought tooth and nail.
Coming down heavily on BJP for its lust for power by hoodwinking the innocent people of the country, Mr Azad said “the population of Chenab Valley that comprises the Doda, Kishtwar, Ramban and Banihal belts is a symbol of secularism. It is the united effort of people who have strengthened secularism in this belt which has further helped in initiating developmental works here. Only secularism can ensure development”, he added.
“He called upon the people to counter the divisive moves of certain political parties, which are least bothered about the addressing the miseries of the people and instead they (political parties) have just one hidden agenda i.e. to befool the people on the name of religion and caste and exploit their votes. He appealed the people to cast their votes to strengthen the secular forces.
“Number of Hydro power projects worth thousands of crores of rupees have been made functional while number of such projects are  in the process of its completion and shall be made functional in near future. Numerous projects of new roads are underway. Thousands of persons have been provided employment under MNREGA. These are some pointers to the fact that Congress at centre and NC-Congress Coalition Government here in Jammu and Kashmir have been consistently working for the overall development of the State especially the hilly and far-flung belts of the State,” highlighted Mr Azad.
“Congress has never be-fooled the people; it’s presence was always at grass roots level and will remain in future as well, with its commitment and dedication towards welfare of the people”, Azad said.
He said that Congress party is seeking votes on the developmental plank to make the nation prosperous on the ideology of the secularism where all are equal in every dimension, rather than opting the policy to disintegrate the people on the basis of caste creed and colour.
Talking about the State’s development, Azad said Coalition Government led by  Omar Abdullah, with the backing of UPA has brought a revolution in various sectors including health, education, farming, road connectivity, industry and creation of new administrative units. Yet despite that some political parties, in a lust to grab power are hell bent to divert the attention of the people and cautioned the people not to fall prey to the propagandas of such parties, who will destabilize the peace and prosperity.
“Crores have been spent for the construction of number of new roads under Prime Minister Gramin Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) as well as Central Road Fund (CRF) to ensure every hilly and remote village is connected with each other. Besides, number of such construction works are under way and would be completed soon, which would help to eradicate the problems of local populace to a large extent. In hilly areas, developmental works takes a lot of time. But even then, the developmental works are on and would be completed soon, Mr Ghulam Nabi Azad said, further adding that “It is Congress party which, keeping in view the problems and plight of the people have initiated people oriented projects. There has been record development in the past 10 years’ rule of Congress led UPA-I and UPA-II.
Among others who accompanied Azad included Congress Minister Abdul Majid Wani, former Minister and sitting MLA from Inderwal G M Saroori, MLC- Naresh Gupta, MLA- Mohammad Sharief Niaz, Brij Mohan Sharma and Aslam Goni.
