BJP Women Wing celebrates J&K’s conversion into UT

JAMMU, Oct 31: After the abrogation of special status to Jammu & Kashmir Women Wing of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) led by its State president, Rajni Sethi organised a programme to celebrate designating J&K State as Union Territory at Maheshpura Chowk, Bakshi Nagar in presence of Dy. Mayor Purnima Sharma, State general secretary, Yudhvir Sethi and district president, Jammu West Ayodhya Gupta.
Rajni Sethi said, “On August 5, the Centre stripped Jammu and Kashmir of its special status given under Article 370 and split it into two Union territories, J&K and Ladakh, which now came into existence today on October 31 and this celebration is just a trailer for the development of J&K, she said.
J&K got independence today in a real manner, she said adding that the spirit of patriotism is very high among the Nari Shakti and the people of the region, Rajni added.
Dy. Mayor, Purnima Sharma said that Article 370 has been resolved by the Indian Government on August, 5, 2019 which gave special status to J&K. For effective governance, now the responsibilities will be administered by the lieutenant Governor who is representative of president of India, specifically appointed for a particular union territory by the Centre Government.
State general secretary, Yudhvir said that now we all are “one” and the Tricolour in each and every house of J&K symbolises the patriotism of the people and their unwavering commitment towards India.
Women of different communities like Muslim, Gorkha etc. also spoke on the occasion and awarded the people about the benefits of UT and thanked PM Narendra Modi to abolish the Triple Talaq from J&K State.
State general secretary, Sanjita Dogra conducted the proceedings of the programme.
At the end, thousands of earthen lamps have been lit by the Mahila Karyakartas to express their joy for the UT status for Jammu and Kashmir and thanked PM, Narendra Modi.
