JAMMU, Mar 1: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has withdrawn its candidate Ramesh Arora from the poll fray of Legislative Council which is going to elections tomorrow.
There are now four candidates in poll fray from Jammu region after the withdrawal of Mr Arora who included two from BJP and one each from People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and National Conference.
With the withdrawal of Mr Arora the victory of these four candidates to Upper House has become imminent from Jammu. They include Vibodh Gupta and Charanjit Singh Khalsa of BJP, Surinder Choudhary of PDP and Sajad Kichloo of NC.
The decision to withdraw Mr Arora from poll fray was taken by BJP here today and same was conveyed to him by the Party.
Out of five candidates of BJP who had filled up their nomination papers two have already been declared elected. They included Chering Dorjay from Ladakh and Sofi Mohammed Yousf from Kashmir.
Besides, the elections will also be held for two seats of Upper House from Kashmir tomorrow for which three candidates are in fray.
They included Qaisar Jamshed Lone of NC and Bashir Mirchal and Saif-ud-Din Bhat of PDP.
The two women MLAs Priya Sethi from Jammu and Anjum Fazli from Kashmir who were nominated by Government today will also cast their vote tomorrow and this can benefit the two PDP candidates from Kashmir.
