JAMMU, Jan 18: BJP has won the election of Mayor, Senior Deputy Mayor and Deputy Mayor in Chandigarh Municipal Corporation (CMC) the elections of which were held on Tuesday.
This was stated by Dr Narinder Singh national secretary of BJP who was appointed as election observer in the Union Territory of Chandigarh to supervise the elections to the post of Mayor, Senior Deputy Mayor and Deputy Mayor by party national president, J P Nadda.
Dr Narinder Singh said that out of 29 votes which were polled, BJP got 15 votes while Aam Admi Party (AAP) got 14 votes. He said there is a total strength of 35 corporators in Chandigarh Municipal Corporation. But with one vote of MP of Chandigarh Parliamentary constituency, the total strength of voters goes to 36.
He said but the six corporators of Congress and one of Akali Dal Badal abstained from voting.
