JAMMU, Aug 7: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) South Kashmir incharge (Sangthan Mantri), Vir Saraf today said that his party will not be cowed down by the terrorist attacks on its activists in Kashmir valley as party is wedded to restoration of peace and welfare of the people.
In a statement issued here, he said the attacks on Sarpanches and party activists by terrorists is the reflection of their desperation and warned them that they will never succeed in their vicious designs. He said BJP has made many sacrifices for the nation and for the total integration of J&K with India right from the days of its inception when founder president of Bharatiya Jan Sangh, Shayama Prasad Mookherjee laid down his life in Kashmir. Every party worker is inspired by this supreme sacrifice and those thinking that they will force the BJP to deviate from its mission of serving the nation and its people are totally mistaken.
Saraf, while strongly condemning the yesterday’s killing of the party Sarpanch in Qazigund area alleged that BJP has become an eye sore for terrorists and some political parties in Kashmir as it is the only party which is working on ground for development and restoration of peace. Worried over party’s zeal and zest to serve masses in Kashmir some political groups and terrorists have ganged up against the party to pin down its people but they will never succeed in their game plan, he added.
While holding some Kashmir centric parties responsible for 30 year old terrorism, he said instead of working for elimination of gun culture from Valley they are adding fuel to fire with their statements day in and day out. He asked people of Valley especially those whose kith and kin were killed by terrorists to revolt against the gun culture as it has eaten up vitals of society over the years.
Saraf said it is high time for the people of Kashmir to challenge the terrorism to take the Valley on path of progress and development.
