BJP will address long-standing inequalities against women: Kavinder

JAMMU, Jan 25: Senior BJP leader and former Deputy Chief Minister, Kavinder Gupta said that the party stands fully committed to women empowerment and shall leave no stone unturned in doing full justice to the women in the society who have been deprived of their due rights despite their tremendous contribution in building the future citizenry of the nation.
The BJP leader, while lauding the Lt Governor’s significant decision of according 15 percent reservation for women in JKP, said that it is undoubtedly a landmark decision that will go a long way in further strengthening women empowerment in J&K Union Territory. He added that LG has laid a strong foundation for ensuring end to discrimination against the weaker sex not only in employment but in every field of life.
The former Dy Chief Minister said that this decision will undoubtedly ensure the availability of sufficient women personnel in the J&K police force to deal exclusively in the matters pertaining to gender-based crimes.
