JAMMU, Oct 14: J&K BJP Transport Cell held a meeting with Union Minister of State, Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways, Shantanu Thankur under the leadership of Ashutosh Gupta, convener BJP Transport Cell J&K, today.
During the meeting, the Transport Cell discussed various issues related to the problems being faced by the local transporters of J&K including advance passenger tax and shortage of employees in RTOs and ARTOs.
Moreover, the issue related to the validity of the deposit permit of commercial vehicles which must be increased from 5 to 10 years was also discussed with the Minister concerned.
Roshan Sharma, Parvesh Bali (Co- convener Transport Cell), Pranav Gupta ( Media in-charge BJP Transport Cell), Sanjeev Sharma, Vijay Choudhary and other executive members were present during the meeting with the Union Minister.
