Srinagar, May 12: Asserting that the Congress led UPA Government has lost its credibility by plundering the country by its corrupt means and made the lives of common people miserable due to price rise, Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) today said that it will start ‘Jail Bharo Andolan’ across the country including three regions of Jammu and Kashmir from May 27.
The BJP spokesperson, Prakash Javadekar while addressing a press conference here  said that the nationwide campaign about the UPA Government’s failure and its various scams and scandals will be launched across the country including all the three regions of Jammu and Kashmir. He said that the party will also press for the Prime Minister Manmohan Singh’s resignation.
Javadekar said the economist Prime Minister has failed miserably not only in managing the economy but was guilty of presiding over the most corrupt Government after independence. “PM is directly involved into coal scam as he signed the documents for its allotment during 2006-2009 and 17 billion tons of coal reserves worth Rs 50 lakh crores were handed over to 140 private companies for free,” he said.
He accused the PM and Law Minister of misusing CBI. “The Law Minister did blunder by changing CBI report and shielded corrupt persons, so we demand his resignation also,” he said.
The spokesperson said, even in Jammu and Kashmir, where NC and Congress are in coalition the corruption has touched its heights and for getting a ration card, the poor man has to pay bribe.
While replying a question about India-China relationship, Javadekar said Congress has weakened the foreign relations of India with her neighbouring countries like China, Sri Lanka and even Pakistan.
The Party spokesperson hailed the democratic transition in Pakistan where Nawaz Sharif appears set to return to power and hoped that the new Government would further strengthen the process of improving ties with India.
While speaking about the steps taken by the former Prime Minister, Atal Bihari Vajpayee to improve Indo-Pak relations with Nawaz Sharif Government and his party wanted to bring back the moments of 1999.
“If he (Sharif) wants to bring back the momentum of 1999, then it is better, because we think that we have to have good relations with all neighbouring countries, especially Pakistan,” he added.
