JAMMU, Dec 4: BJP has reiterated its demand for justice to the family of Chamel Singh a resident of Pargwal area of Jammu who was killed in Pak jail this year on the same pattern as was done in the case of Sarbjit Singh of Punjab who too was killed in neighbouring country over three months after him.
In a statement issued here today, BJP State Incharge Cells, Sat Sharma (CA) said that the family of Chamel Singh has met total injustice through the hands of the Government. He said the BJP is fully committed to seek justice for the family and the issue was also raised by Party’s Prime Ministerial candidate, Narendra Modi  in his address at MA Stadium on December 1.
Mr Modi asked for justice to his family on the same pattern as was done in the case of Sarabjit Singh. Sharma further added that the State Government should take necessary and quick decision on the matter so that Chamel Singh’s family, which is in dire need of financial assistance could be provided immediate relief. He also stated that on several occasions, reminders regarding Chamel Singh’s case have been sent to President of India, Prime Minister of India, Union Home Minister and Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir but nothing has been done by them so far.
Sharma, said it was BJP MP and State Incharge Avinash Rai Khanna who raised the issue of Chamel Singh in Rajya Sabha and after that the Central Government came into action and brought the dead body of Chamel Singh back to India.
