BJP to conduct interactive meets to educate workers

JAMMU, May 3: Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) will conduct interactive meets at district and mandal levels so that party workers could be educated about its ideology and future goals.
This was said by Ashok Koul, State general secretary (Organisation), BJP, while concluding his two-day maiden tour of district Reasi today.
He said that they will urge the party leadership to conduct interactive meets at district and Mandal levels and also decide dates for conducting Orientation cum Training workshops separately for each Mandal so that the party workers could be educated upto grass-root level about party’s ideology and future goals in J&K.
Kaul, who took over as organisational general secretary recently, is on his first visit to the district after taking up his current assignment.
Kaul, who also familiarised himself with the working of different morchas including Yuva Morcha and Mahila Morcha in the district, said party leadership would work with dedication to spread the idealogy of the party in nook and corner of the State.
Ashok Koul was briefed by Dr Jitendra Singh, chief spokesperson, about the status of party rating in each of the 13 wards of the two Municipal Committees of Reasi and Katra in view of the forthcoming Urban Body Elections, while district President Krishan Dev Singh, provided details of the discrepancies and errors in the voter lists.
Ashok Kaul assured the party activists that the issue would be taken up with elections authorities and that party has already demanded extension of few days for revision of voter lists.
Dr Jitendra Singh suggested convening of a district level “Sammelan” of Sarpanchs and Panchs to educate them about the merits of 73rd and 74th amendments of constitution and Government’s lack of will to grant full financial and administrative empowerment to local bodies.
Among others present were Sudesh Pandotra, Shashi Gupta, Sheel Mangotra, Chanderkanta, Captain Daya Ram, Advocate Kuldip, Ramesh, Ajay Nanda, Chain Singh, Subhash Vaid, Roop Lal Sharma, Manoj Chalotra, Sunder Dass, Goldy, Sanjay Dubey besides local leaders.
