HIRANAGAR/KATHUA, Apr 15: While addressing a series of election meetings in Hiranagar and Kathua Assembly segments today, Union Minister and BJP Lok Sabha candidate from Udhampur-Kathua-Doda Parliamentary constituency Dr Jitendra Singh reiterated that Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is committed to carry forward Dr Shyama Prasad Mukherjee’s political legacy.
Referring to Shyama Prasad Mukherjee’s movement for “Ek Vidhan, Ek Nishan, Ek Pradhan”, Dr Jitendra Singh recalled that it is the Kathua region where Dr Mukherjee had courted arrest after having entered the State without obtaining a permit, so that a message could go across the country that Jammu & Kashmir is as much a part of India as any other State of the Indian Union. It is now for us to defeat the forces which are raking up the passion to divide India and to secede Jammu & Kashmir from India, he said.
Thanking the people of Kathua for turning out in large numbers to attend the mammoth public rally addressed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Dr Jitendra Singh said, after the unequivocal observations made by Modi, there should be no doubt left in anybody’s mind that the Modi Government will ever allow the divisive and anti-national forces to carry their agenda in this country. He said, Modi’s declaration from Kathua has found a world-wide echo and reaffirmed India’s position as far as Jammu & Kashmir and Pakistan is concerned.
This is for the first time, Dr Jitendra Singh said, that the people in border areas are appreciating the decisive action taken against Pakistan and its sympathizers within by the Modi Government. This, he said, has not only acted as a morale booster for the people living along the International Border (IB), but has also made the people realize the sensitivity and concern with which Prime Minister Modi has brought justice to them by ordering 3% reservation to the border youth and host of other measures, including Bunkers, Seema Bhawans, recruitment in exclusive battalion, enhanced compensation for the deceased as well as cattle, toilet complexes, etc.
Calling upon people to ensure cent-percent voting on 18th April in support of BJP, Dr Jitendra Singh also reminded them to carry their photo identity card like Aadhaar, etc. while going to cast their vote and to keep the ‘Lotus’ button pressed as long as they do not hear a beep sound ringing out of the electronic voting machine.
