JAMMU, Jan 24: Former Deputy Chief Minister and senior Congress leader Tara Chand today lashed out at the BJP Government for its wrong policies and failure to address the genuine issues of the farmers, employees of various categories and unemployed youth, leading to unrest in various sections of the society in the country.
Addressing party workers’ meeting at Chak Malal in Khour area today, ex-DyCM said that Congress is the only secular force in the country which has a history of respecting the aspirations and protecting the rights of different sections of society. He claimed that party will come out with flying colours in the upcoming elections.
While launching attack on BJP, Tara Chand said this party surrendered the interests of the Jammu people for the sake of power and stabbed its voters in the back for self interests. All the poll promises were thrown into the dustbin by the BJP legislators and Ministers. He said that people will now teach lesson to the BJP in coming elections.
The former DyCM urged upon the party cadre to gear up their activities in view of coming Lok Sabha and Assembly elections and asked them to reach out to the people at grass- root level. He also appealed to the party cadre and especially, youth to strengthen the party at block, ward and booth level.
