BJP surrendered interests of Jammu before PDP: Manohar

JAMMU,  Mar 9:  Senior Congress leader and former MLA Billawar Dr Manohar Lal Sharma has alleged that BJP surrendered the interests of Jammu people before the PDP.
During  meeting of Block Congress Committee  of  Kandi belt at  Dinga Amb today, Dr Sharma said  that BJP has surrendered before the PDP meekly just for the sake of power.  The people of this region are feeling cheated after they gave massive mandate to the BJP.
The Congress leader alleged that Central and State Governments had failed to fulfill the aspirations of the people.  He said that after the gimmicks of gaining and bargaining , in lust of power, both the parties are trying again to form Government. “The previous coalition of eight months resulted in a total failure and now the next spell would repeat itself,” he added.
Dr Sharma expressed strong resentment over Government  failure in providing adequate water, power and ration supply in different parts of the district. He said that conditions are worst in Kandi belt. Dr Sharma  also demanded compensation for the recent crop loss occurred due to absence of rains. He also asked the party workers to gear up for coming Local Bodies elections.
District Party president from Kathua former MLC  Subash Gupta also spoke on the occasion. Gupta asked the party workers to gear up their activities in view of coming ULB and Panchayat elections. Castigating PDP-BJP coalition Government responsible for the hardships of the people of State, he  said that both political parties are self-centered and Congress is the only secular party which takes care of all sections of society.
A large number of people from the adjoining villages, the local leaders  of the Congress party including Panchs and  Sarpanchs attended the meeting and raised various  issues.  Prominent among those who spoke on occasion included- Naresh Sharma, Capt Tara Chand, Kulbir Singh Pathania,  Sarpanch Kuldeep Gupta, Sarpanch Thuru Ram, Sarpanch Surinder Singh, Sarpanch Kamal Singh, Sarpanch Kulbhushan Singh, Sarpanch Vijay Singh, Mohinder Sharma, Kundan Sharma, Chamail Singh and Raj Kumar.
