BJP stands exposed for double speak on various issues: Cong

Jammu, June 25: Claiming that BJP stands exposed for its double speak on various issues, while in opposition and in power, the Congress questioned it over the issue of concessions to the kids of slain militants.
Reacting to the policy of scholarships to the children of slain militants, JKPCC Chief Spokesperson Ravinder Sharma said that it is BJP which is ruling the J&K directly or indirectly for more than six years and now cannot turn around to find escape route by shifting the responsibilities on the erstwhile Governments or their alliance partners or the bureaucrats, wherever it finds hard to explain its changed stands on various issues.
Targetting BJP for its hypocracy and double speak, Sharma said that it opposed tooth and nail various policies and programmes while in opposition but adopted and continued the same for being in power.
He also reminded that more than ten thousands stone pelters were also freed from the criminal charges by withdrawal of all FIRs against them during their rule on the order of the centre, whereas the same BJP used to call them anti-national and a threat to the security of the country, seeking punishment to them under terror laws, while in opposition.
He said that BJP has one policy and language when in opposition for vote bank politics but it has another policy while in power. It is for BJP to explain what was its compulsion to go ahead with such policies and programmes, which it vehemently opposed publically, while in opposition. It only further exposes the double speak of the BJP, Sharma added.
