KATHUA, Dec 27: Former Minister and president, DCC, Kathua, Dr. Manohar Lal Sharma while addressing public meetings at village Boura of block Barnoti today criticized State BJP and its leadership for stalling the development work in remote villages of Boura, Juthana & Lahri.
During the meeting local people apprised Dr. Sharma of various problems faced by them. They pointed out that their children have to walk around 15 kms for attending High School, also work progress on road is very slow and shortage of water is still there, school building is still without roof. After hearing the issues Dr. Sharma lambasted BJP Government and its leadership by saying that Middle School Boura was upgraded to High School in 2014 vide Govt. Order 737 dt. 22.10.2014 but till now not even a single class has been conducted there. Further, he said four primary schools were upgraded to middle school but same is the case with them. Dispensary of Boura & Bala Sundri were allotted during his tenure but still they are non functional, he added.
He also criticized the slow work progress on 14 kms Kein Pali to Boura road which started back in 2014 but till date hasn’t been completed and many projects like these have come to standstill due to callous , non serious attitude of the previous Government. People also have a word of praise for the previous tenure of Dr Manohar Lal Sharma by saying that lot of developmental work took place in their region like 70 % of area was provided with water supply, electricity, road connectivity, medical centres and more but all of the progress halted during last four years. They also demand for bitumen road between Juthana and Boura which will facilitate around 10000 people.
Dr Sharma assured the people of remote areas with tough terrains that once Congress comes back to power, he will make sure that all the demands of people are addressed and development work are carried out with dedication and enthusiasm .During function many people joined Congress and showed trust in leadership of Dr Manohar Lal Sharma and further vowed to strength the party.
