BJP says struggle for PoK will go on till it is reclaimed

NEW DELHI:  Maintaining that Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) is an integral part of India, Bharatiya Janata Party today asserted that the struggle for its merger with India will continue till the objective is achieved.

Addressing mediapersons here, BJP spokesperson Shahnawaz Hussain said India has always raised its voice against the atrocities inflicted upon the people of PoK, Balochistan and would keep raising it.

”As per the resolution of Parliament, PoK is an integral part of India and it will remain so and struggle for reclaiming it, will go on,” Mr Hussain said.        The BJP leader also demanded that the Congress make its stand clear on former External Affairs Minister Salman Khurshid’s statement on Balochistan. While the grand old party rallied behind the government over the issue of Balochistan and PoK — raised by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in his Independence Day address — Mr Khurshid had severely criticised it.

”If Salman Khurshid’s views are not of the party, what action have they taken against him. This will not work now. On one hand you make one of your leaders make a comment and on other the party through another leader disassociates from that remarks. This policy needs to be clarified by the Congress,” Mr Hussain said.

He accused the neighbouring nation of being the source of terrorism in the Kashmir Valley and pointed out that Mr Modi wanted laptops in the hands of Kashmiri youth instead of stones and that the government was working towards it.

Mr Hussain also slammed the Pakistani Government for patronising Lashkar-e-Toiba chief and the 26/11 Mumbai attack mastermind Hafiz Sayeed and called Pakistan a threat to the entire world.  (AGENCIES)
