JAMMU, Sept 28: To discuss the prevailing scenario in Jammu and Kashmir and chalk out future strategy, the senior leaders of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) from J&K held threadbare discussions with senior leaders of two organizations in the Union Capital today.
According to sources the BJP and Sangh leaders from J&K held meetings with top functionaries of Sangh at RSS Headquarter Jandiwala, New Delhi and BJP leaders at Party headquarters during their two days stay in New Delhi.
Sources said both RSS and BJP leaders were summoned to Delhi to discuss the party’s role in the event of changing scenario in J&K after the abrogation of Articles 370 and 35-A and reorganization of the State into two separate Union Territories of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh.
Sources said RSS is keen to see that there should be no misgiving among the people of the State over the decision and it has advised both Sangh as well as BJP activists to launch a State-wide campaign to apprise the people of the advantages of new arrangement which will bring new vistas for the people of the militancy infested State.
Sources said senior Sangh leaders held a close door meeting with State BJP and RSS leaders yesterday evening in which the important issues which surfaced after the abrogation of Articles 370 and 35 A in the State were discussed. The State leaders gave a complete feed back to RSS top brass in the meeting regarding the prevailing situation in J&K.
Sources said the delimitation of constituencies was also discussed and the Central leadership of Sangh took feed back from both Sangh and BJP leaders of the State on this issue. The Sangh is favouring the delimitation of the constituencies before the next Assembly poll and yardsticks to be applied in this regard were also discussed with State leadership, sources added.
Sources said the meeting was taken by RSS general secretary, Bhaia Ji Joshi and senior leader and organizational general secretary BJP, B L Santosh, Kshtriya Pracharak RSS Banveer Singh and Sangchalak Dr Bajrang Lal were also present in the meeting.
The State Sangh leaders who attended the meeting included Prant Pracharak RSS, Rupesh Ji and another senior leader and Sewa Bharti head North India, Jaidev commonly known as Dada, BJP State president, Ravinder Raina and party general secretary (Org) Ashok Kaul were present in the meeting.
Today BJP leaders from State held another meeting with national working president, J P Nadda, national general secretary (Org), B L Santosh and another national general secretary in charge J&K, Ram Madhav and discussed prevailing situation in the State as well as organizational affairs with them.
BJP State president, Ravinder Raina told Excelsior that they met the senior party leaders and discussed various issues pertaining to the organization with them.
He said holding of Block Development Committee (BDC) elections and the organizational elections were discussed with the national leaders of the party. Stressing on completion of organisational elections as per schedule, the High Command has enjoined upon the State leadership that the process of election of State president of the party should be completed by December 15 as per schedule.
The Central leadership gave more thrust on completion of membership drive and constitution of BDCs in the State to strength democracy at grass root level, Raina said.
