BJP revokes suspension of 5 MLAs except former LP leader in J&K

JAMMU, Jan 14: BJP today revoked the suspension of five MLAs who were suspended for allegedly cross voting in Legislative Council election in April 2011. The BJP high command revoked the suspension of Baldev Raj, Master Lal Chand, Durga Dass, Bharat Bhushan and Prof Charu Ram following their request, a BJP spokesperson said. The decision to revoke their suspension was taken by BJP president Rajnath Singh after the MLAs wrote to him expressing their “unconditional” desire to work for the party, according to a party handout. However, the suspension of former BJP legislature party leader Chaman Lal Gupta, expelled from party’s primary membership for six years in May 2011, was not revoked. The six MLAs were expelled from the party for allegedly voting for NC-Congress candidates in the April 2011 Legislative Council elections. (AGENCIES)
