JAMMU, Feb 11: The State unit of BJP observed Samarpan Divas on the death anniversary of great ideologue of Bharatiya Jana Sangh Pt. Deen Dayal Upadhyay with State president & MLA Sat Sharma, along with party leaders Ashok Kaul, Dr. Narinder Singh, MLCs Ashok Khajuria and S. Charanjeet Singh Khalsa, MLAs Ch. Lal Singh, Priya Sethi, Rajesh Gupta and R.S. Pathania, district presidents Baldev Singh Billawaria and Ayodhaya Gupta, laying wreaths at the portrait of this leader followed by offering donations towards the party.
Sat Sharma while paying tributes to Pt. Deen Dayal Upadhyay, spoke on a number of instances related to his life which reflects the simplicity and passion to serve the society and the country. He said that the ground where we stand today has been irrigated and strengthened by patriotic leaders like Upadhyay Ji and the true tribute to him would be to devote time for society and educate the people about his principles and ideology. He said that whatever Pt. Deen Dayal Upadhyay did for the society was splendid and would remain a source of inspiration for the generations to come.
Ashok Kaul, who spoke in details on the life of Pt. Deen Dayal Upadhyay right from childhood to student age and later as Jana Sangh leader, said that he was a revered symbol of Integral Humanism, an ideologue and a guiding force for an alternative model of governance and politics. He was a man of soaring idealism and had a tremendous capacity for organisation and reflected different aspects of a social thinker, economist, educationalist, politician, writer, journalist, speaker, organiser and was regarded as an ideal Swayamsevak of the RSS.
Proceedings of the programme were conducted by State secretary Sanjay Baru and district president Ayodhaya Gupta presented vote of thanks.
