JAMMU, Feb 28: Accusing BJP of playing hide and seek on the issue of property tax and other important issues faced by the people with the administration, Congress has strongly opposed imposition of property tax upon the people of J&K at a time when they are both economically and politically distressed.
BJP wants to run with the hare and hunt with the hound, on almost all major issues of the people with the UT administration including on property tax issue, bulldozer scheme, minority killings, relocation & salary issues of KPs & Jammu employees as well several such issues of different sections of employees, agitating temporary employees and unemployed youth, JKPCC chief spokesperson Ravinder Sharma said.
He said BJP tries to maintain public posturing on all crucial issues just to fool the general public and keep it’s space but it is the BJP led Centre Government which is running the affairs of UT through the LG administration & all important decisions are either taken in Delhi or in consultation with the Centre. Be it killings of innocents especially minorities, Kashmiri Pandits, Jammu employees, settling their issues of re-adjustment in safer environment, the strengthening of security system in vulnerable areas of minority insecurity besides issues of evictions of poor and common people & bulldozer drive, issues of different categories of temporary employees daily wagers etc. , the BJP has been trying to play the double role of proxy government and opposition too but it is the Centre government which is directly controlling the JKUT.
Congress leader said that the people of all walks are being crushed under huge taxes and by arbitrary orders and directives. The government should consider it public outcry and withdraw anti people decisions, he added.
