SAMBA, Nov 16: Alleging a secret pact between the BJP and PDP, NPP chairman Harsh Dev Singh said that the two parties represented the two faces of the same coin and seemed to be still working under a political arrangement conceptualized by them at the time of formation of coalition govt in 2014.
Addressing public gathering at Vijaypur, Singh said that two parties which vowed to demolish each other during previous Assembly elections only to address their respective electorates in the two different regions of the State seemed to have once again worked upon a similar strategy so as to win back the lost confidence of their people in their respective regions.
Grappling with crisis of credibility, both the parties had thought of playing the same old game of criticising each other in a bid to cheat the not so gullible masses as on today. While Mehbooba Mufti had started defying the national symbols and the flag of the nation to woo back the hardcore elements in the valley, the BJP had started rebuking Mehbooba Mufti dubbing her as anti-national in its desperation to retrieve its lost ground and its highly dented credibility. And amusingly both believe that this strategy could earn them political dividends, Singh asserted.
Lamenting that the political rhetoric was getting highly polarized with each passing day, Singh rued that it was hate and anxiety alone which was filtering down to the people. These were parties which specialized in emotional mobilization and divisive politics to fulfil their nefarious designs.
“Their only objective was to attain power by hook or crook with all their vowed principles and fundamentals negotiable on the high table of power. People must recapitulate the highly mesmerizing and seductive slogans given during 2014 elections by BJP in Jammu region and PDP in Kashmir valley. But both abandoned their election promises and stitched the most controversial alliance under the smokescreen of good governance which was least discernible during the said coalition. And the same strategy seemed to have been revived by BJP and PDP to address their respective regions with Mehbooba openly challenging national symbols with BJP govt acting as mute spectator and only trying to derive political capital out of her duly sponsored hate India utterances”, said Singh.
The apparent revival of that partnership would only spell doom for the erstwhile State now reduced to UT, cautioned Harsh.
Prominent among those who spoke on the occasion included Ex-MLA Y P Kundal, NPP DDC candidate from Vijaypur- B Rajni Jamwal , Manju Singh, Rajesh Padgotra, Yash Paul Sharma besides others.
