BJP-PDP playing dangerous politics of divide: Kamaal

Excelsior Correspondent
RAJOURI, May 4: Former Minister and  additional general secretary of National Conference Dr Sheikh Mustafa Kamaal  has said that BJP- PDP Coalition Government in the State is fraught with dangerous consequences for the people of the State due to its policies of  regional bias and communal divide.
While addressing a well attended meeting of the office bearers and prominent citizens of Rajouri, which was convened to felicitate the newly nominated District president   Shafayat Khan, Dr Kamaal said the National Conference has been given a God send opportunity to introspect as to the reasons and causes of party defeat in 2014 Assembly elections. He told the audience that need of the hour is to close ranks and work with dedication and renewed vigour to rejuvenate National Conference which has become victim of conspiracies and machination of powers that be in New Delhi.
Dr Kamaal alleged that militancy was started by Mufti Mohd Sayeed as Union  Home Minister through his handpicked Governor Jagmohan in 1990 and that the exodus of Kashmiri Pandits was the brain child of Mufti Sayeed  as endorsed by the veteran Congress leader Mani  Krishan Ayer.  NC leader said  that Kashmiri Pandits know  well that it was Mufti’s people who vandalized Hindu -temples to influence Delhi and bring down the GM Shah Government. Being intelligent people, Kashmiri Pandits should  be well advised to differentiate between their well wishers and others against them.   NC has been the torch bearer of secularism in J&K.
Dr Kamaal said that the unfinished agenda of NC “Naya Kashmir” programme and amicable resolution of J&K problems will be pursued  vigorously with the concerned and will leave no stone unturned to  expose the inept inefficient and corrupt Government of Mufti Mohd Sayeed.
Sheikh Bashir Ahmed Provincial secretary while addressing the gathering asserted that District unit of Rajouri Urban will be reconstituted properly and all the organizational wings would work to strengthen the party in the district. Fresh membership drive would be launched to involve all the youth at gross root level in the district.  He asked the workers to strengthen the party in their  respective areas.  He hoped  Shafayat Khan district president would ensure that all the communities are involved in the new District Committee properly.
