KATHUA, Jan 11: BJP State President & MLA Jugal Kishore Sharma today accused the Congress for not learning any lesson from its past mistakes as it continues lenient against Pakistan which has been bleeding India with a thousand cut at regular intervals and killing and mutilating the bodies of the jawans guarding the borders.
Paying floral tributes to Behari Lal and Bikham Chand, the martyrs of Ek Vidhan, Ek Nishan, Ek Pradhan agitation of 1953 at Hiranagar today he said that the negative attitude of the Congress-led UPA Government to the gruesome killing of Lance Naiks-Hemraj and Sudhakar Singh on January 8 last year in the Mendhar sector of Poonch district is highly disturbing. But the uncalled for gesture of the Congress Government only encouraged Pakistan and demoralized the army and the other security forces involved in anti-insurgency operations making supreme sacrifices.
Leader of Legislative Party leader Ashok Khajuria said that these martyrs were pained to see that the tri-colour was not getting due respect and they laid their lives to ensure that it gets hoisted in the State. The people should get inspiration from their sacrifices, he added.
National Executive Member Dr. Nirmal Singh said that the agitation of 1953 was historic in many ways. It brought the nationalist people under the umbrella of Praja Parishad with the sole motive of full integration of the State with the rest of the country. He said that the life of the martyrs of 1953 should serve as a source of inspiration for others.
National Executive Member & State Chief spokesperson, Dr. Jitendra Singh said that during the last one year Hiranagar has been repeatedly a target of terror attacks by Pak sponsored militants and in spite of this, the CM is recommending revocation of AFSPA from this area. He said that if the CM honestly believes that AFSPA is not required here, then he should first set an example by leaving his Z-security at home while touring though this area. Singh said that Hiranagar is a land of martyrs and it will continue to inspire successive generation to make sacrifices for the nationalist cause in Jammu & Kashmir.

Ranjit Singh, State general secretary, Rajiv Jasrotia, BJP Senior leader Rashpal Verma, State secretary Mamta Singh and Kathua district president, Vijay Sharma (Adv.), Updesh Andotra, Prem Nath Dogra, Gopal Mahajan, Chanchla Devi, Raghunandan, Tara Singh and other also paid their tributes.
