JAMMU, Dec 19: Namrta Sharma, president Women Wing Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) today castigated the present regime for its failure to show serious concern towards the problems being faced by the general masses.
Namrta Sharma visited the Jammu Cantonment, Satwari area in Bahu constituency and took stock of the problems being faced by the people related to basic amenities.
The senior leader of Aam Aadmi Party said that the elected representatives of the previous regime in the erstwhile Jammu and Kashmir State miserably failed to address even the grave issues confronting the common people of the State. She accused the elected representatives of preferring to maintain criminal silence on the pressing issues of the people. She said that in the area there was a serious issue as the electricity live wires hanging in the streets posing a grave threat to the residents of the area as well as the children playing in the streets.
She said that the concerned department has not shown its serious concern towards this grave issue despite taking up the matter with authorities concerned by the local residents several times.
Highlighting some of the important issues brought to her notice by the local people, Namrta Sharma said that streets in general in the area are in shabby condition being full of potholes and choked drains thus creating a hell of difficulties for the people in the area.
Namrata also raised serious concern over the deplorable condition of primary school in the area. On one side the Prime Minister brought a New Education Policy and on the other hand the present Government made a mockery of the initiative taken by the Prime Minister, she added.
Namrta Sharma said that only the Aam Aadmi Party can provide the much required relief to the people of J&K and therefore strengthening the party by extending support should be taken as a cause for the welfare of the people.
