BJP, NPP stage walk out

Srinagar, Aug 30: As the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and National Conference members were on their feet trading charges against each other over the alleged land grab issue in Anantnag, the Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) and National Panthers Party (NPP) members walked out of the House alleging that House is being hijacked by two families and they were not allowed to speak.
The BJP, NPP, People’s Democratic Party (PDP) members were on their feet trying to draw the attention of Speaker Mubarak Gul to raise their issues immediately after the session began today.
Gul said a member from all parties will be allowed to speak before the Question-Hour.
BJP MLA Ashok Khajuria said that the House is hijacked by two families – Abdullahs and Muftis- and the BJP and NPP MLAs are not being allowed to raise the issue in the Assembly. Amid uproar they staged a walkout from the House in protest.
