Nalwa for upholding freedom of speech

JAMMU, Dec 18: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Minority Morcha celebrated “Minority Rights Day” here, today in order to spread awareness and promote the rights of religious minorities.
Newly elected president Minority Morcha J&K, Ranjodh Singh Nalwa organised the programme.
On “Minority Rights Day”, BJP UT chief, Ravinder Raina delivered a thought-provoking lecture on the importance of respecting minority communities. He explored the human rights implications of discrimination against ethnic, racial, religious, cultural, sexual and linguistic minorities. Drawing extensively on course material and historical examples, Raina advocated for greater appreciation and protection of diversity in all its forms. He highlighted how targeted policies and campaigns that promote inclusion can support the success of minority groups.
On “Minority Rights Day,” State BJP general secretary Ashok Koul in his address emphasised on the importance of respecting the rights of minorities. With an extensive career in both social and public service, Koul focused his address on highlighting the diverse cultures and communities who exist within India and the need to celebrate this diversity. He stressed that every person has right which must be protected regardless of their background or beliefs, “it is imperative for our society to foster an environment based on respect for all individuals,” he added.
Ranjodh Singh Nalwa, president of Cell, while addressing complimented the UT as well as Central leadership for the honour to represent minorities in Jammu and Kashmir. Singh further said that he will work wholeheartedly for the minority communities in J&K up to the entire satisfaction of the party and the society. He also focused on the rights of minorities in India noting that it was essential for individuals belonging to minority communities to be permitted to lead their lives with complete autonomy and dignity without any discrimination based on their faith, caste or creed. He highlighted key issues such as access to employment, education and healthcare opportunities.
In addition, he stressed on the importance of upholding freedom of speech, thought and expression for all citizens irrespective of their religious affiliations. He stressed that minority rights must remain at the centre stage of policy initiatives inspired by inclusivity agenda.
Prominent among those who expressed their views on the occasion included Sheikh Bashir, Bupinder Singh, Santokh Singh, Ikhlaq Wani, Imtiaz Bhat, Harpal Singh and others.
