BJP MLAs defy Governor’s order barring them from inaugurations

JAMMU, Aug 2: Despite the Governor’s directive of barring Legislators from inaugurating any Government work in view of  the   State Legislative Assembly being in suspended animation, some MLAs and former  BJP Ministers were seen openly publically defying the Government order in this regard.
A day after the issuance of the Governor order, MLA Suchetgarh Sham Choudhary and MLA Samba Devinder Kumar Manyal inaugurated public works worth lakhs of rupees.  While Sham Choudhary inaugurated Rural Development Department work on construction of lanes and drains at Satriyan Khurd in Block Suchetgarh, Mr Manyal inaugurated High Mast   Light at village Barian.
More ironic is the fact that in the inauguration stone, unveiled by Sham Choudhary on July 29, mentions his designation as the Minister for PHE, Irrigation and Flood Control even as the J&K State has been under Governor’s rule since June 20.
Sources said that both the former Ministers not only defied the Governor’s order but also forced some officers to accompany them at the time of inauguration. It seems that these former BJP Ministers are still under impression that they are Government, jeered an officer on the condition of anonymity.
Pertinent to mention that in view of the various reports suggesting that MLAs were still inaugurating the Government utilities and works despite the Lower House placed under suspended animation, the Governor had issued an order on July 28 directing that no Legislator will inaugurate official works.
