JAMMU, Apr 7: BJP MLA from Nowshera, Ravinder Raina today alleged bunglings in Municipal Committee Sunderbani and demanded probe into the same.
Raising the issue during Question Hour in the Legislative Assembly, Mr Raina said, “several projects worth crores of rupees under Urban Infrastructure Development Scheme for Small and Medium Towns (UIDSSMT) have been shown completed in the official record but there is nothing on ground in the Sunderbani town”.
“It seems that funds under this scheme were swindled and the people have been deprived of the benefits”, he said and demanded proper enquiry.
Responding to the issue, Deputy Chief Minister, Dr Nirmal Singh, who is also holding the port-folio of Housing and Urban Development Department, said, “I will visit the area to personally assess utilization of funds”.
“We will conduct probe and take action against the erring officials”, he said.
