JAMMU, Nov 19: J&K BJP Mahila Morcha held a meeting at Akhnoor and paid tributes to Rani Laxmibai–India’s iconic warrior queen.
On the occasion, MLA Akhnoor Rajiv Sharma, Mahila Morcha Vice President Neena Gupta, Secretary Mahila Morcha and Prabhari Akhnoor Neeru Anand, Chairman Municipal Committee Akhnoor Surinder Sharma, Spokesperson Mahila Morcha Geetanjali Mahajan and DDC candidate Sharda Bahu were present.
Acknowledging Lakshmibai’s contribution to India’s freedom struggle, Sanjita Dogra said that the country won freedom because of great leaders like her. She further stated Rani Laxmibai is a source of inspiration for every Indian. Her fortitude in the face of adversity and steadfast opposition to colonialism will never be forgotten. It is due to greats like her that India won freedom, she added.
Sanjita along with her team visited village Sungal Upper, Bandral Khurd Panchayat in favour of candidate Sharda Bahu who is also Secretary in Mahila Morcha.
Others present were Amita Gupta Vice Chairman MC Akhnoor, Sarpanch Anju Sharma, Rajni Devi, Anu Manhas, Khema Devi, Shilpa Mahajan, Reena Devi, Rashmi Kumari, etc.
