BJP left people in lurch after promising ‘good-days’: Bhalla

JAMMU, Apr 7: Former Minister and Congress candidate from Jammu-Poonch Parliamentary seat, Raman Bhalla has alleged that BJP ditched people and then left them in lurch after promising good days.
Addressing series of elections rallies today at Khour, Chhamb, Pargwal, Jourian, Dumi Malpur, Janipur, Kot Bhalwal, Barnai, Kabir Colony, Talab Tillo, Shakti Nagar and Rehari along with former DyCM Tara Chand and senior leaders, Mula Ram, Hari Singh Chib, Uday Bhanu -PYC, Satish Sharma, Manmohan Singh and S S Shangari today, Bhalla slammed BJP for putting Jammu’s interests and development subservient to the pleasure of vested interests for remaining glued to power. He said in the process of sharing loaves of power demonstrated divergence to the extent of jingoism when it comes to inciting passions on core issues.
He said people of Jammu region were suffering on account of development. He made a particular mention of the BJP and dared its Ministers to list their achievements with regard to fulfilling the developmental needs of the Jammu region. “Despite being in power at the Centre and in the State the party failed miserably on governance front and let down Jammu on all fronts”, he said, adding that the BJP has nothing to showcase as its achievement, least to fulfilling liberal promises during elections.
Bhalla referred to uncertain political climate prevailing across the State ever-since the coalition dispensation came into being. He said the BJP ditched each segment of society which feel left out with Government was nowhere visible on ground. Coalition partners failed to put their act together and get into operational mode by shunning opportunism and politics of convenience.
Former Minister said that while the insensitive coalition failed in assuaging urges and aspirations of the people on political front, its record in governance was quite dismal. “The state was virtually witnessing mis-governance with Government nowhere to be seen on ground”, he said, adding that if all there was any visibility of the PDP and BJP anywhere in the state, it was for all the wrong reasons of exploiting people and inciting them to fight each other.
Former DyCM Tara Chand said that all poll promises of BJP in 2014 like empowerment of Jammu, delimitation of assembly constituencies and end of discrimination against Jammu region fell flat. He blamed BJP for exploiting people by playing with their emotions on good governance drama staged by them. He said that Congress Party stands guarantee to the equitable development of all the three regions and the people. It will continue to serve the people to the best of its ability. Several other leaders also spoke on the occasion.
