JAMMU, May 23: Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) activists celebrated the landslide victory of the party in Parliamentary elections by dancing on the beats of drums, distributing sweets and bursting crackers across the State.
BJP has also retained all the three seats in the Jammu & Kashmir, i.e. Jammu-Poonch, Udhampur-Doda and Ladakh, while improving party’s performance in all the six Parliamentary seats of the State.
Wave of celebration gripped the Jammu even before the final outcome. Jubilant BJP activists started distributing sweets and dancing to the tunes of drums since early in the morning. Many of them installed stalls of various sweets including ‘halwa’, ‘jalebi’ etc. to expressed their joy.
As soon as the poll trends started coming in favour of the saffron party, BJP leaders and workers started thronging party headquarters at Trikuta Nagar. Enthusiastic cadres in upbeat mood were seen dancing to the beats of drums and exchanging greetings and hugs. The party headquarters was echoing with slogans of ‘Har Har Modi’, ‘BJP Zindabad’ and ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’.

J&K BJP chief, Ravinder Raina, MP Shamsher Singh, ex-Deputy CM Kavinder Gupta, Dr Nirmal Singh, and other senior party leaders including Balbir Ram Rattan were also present on the occasion. All the leaders exchanged greetings with each other as well as workers. Later, the party workers and leaders came out of the office, burnt crackers and danced to the tunes of drums. Sweets were distributed by the BJP workers to passersby and motorists. They also installed ‘Chabeel’ (sweet water stall) outside the party office for the passersby.
Ravinder Raina, congratulated all the party leaders and ground level workers for registering a thumping win all over the nation. He thanked the people of Jammu & Kashmir and whole of the nation for the love and support shown to the party in the general elections 2019.
Raina credited this landslide victory to the dedicated efforts of all BJP workers under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He said that the Nation has headed for a stable and stronger Government and Modi ji will take the Nation to more heights. He termed this win as the win of nationalist ideology over Pakistan supporters.
Ravinder Raina, said that the party has given results on ground, we have served the Nation with full dedication and efficiency, we have worked with commitment to lift the living standards of every single neglected individual, initiated Central schemes for the welfare of the poor with assurance of delivering benefits to the needy. He said that the BJP has scaled new heights whereas house of Congress based upon lies has been reduced to ashes.
Later, after winning Jammu-Poonch Parliamentary constituency, thousands of enthusiastic BJP workers took Jugal Kishore Sharma and State president Ravinder Raina in a victory procession from Vikram Chowk towards party headquarter where he again addressed the party workers.
Shamsher Singh Manhas, State general secretary (Org) Ashok Kaul, Kavinder Gupta, Sat Sharma, State general secretary Yudhvir Sethi, Dr Narinder Singh, Parmod Kapahi, Vikram Randhawa, Sukhnandan Choudhary, Satish Sharma, Priya Sethi, Purnima Sharma, Rajesh Gupta and other senior party leaders also spoke on the occasion.
Chander Mohan Gupta, Bali Bhagat, Ashok Khajuria, Rajiv Charak, Sanjay Baru, Rajinder Sharma, Arvind Gupta, Ajay Pargal, Adv. Sunil Sethi, Brig Anil Gupta, S S Bijral, Tilak Raj Gupta and Suresh Sharma were amongst the prominent BJP leaders who participated in the day long celebrations observed by the State BJP at party headquarters.
Earlier in the morning, amid chants of “Bharat Mata Ki Jai” and “Vande Mataram”, BJP activists also took out a mega rally in Jammu city. MLC Surinder Ambardar led the rally comprising over 40 vehicles carrying hundreds of workers. Raising slogans in favour of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and party chief Amit Shah, the BJP workers distributed sweets, burst crackers and danced to drum beats.
“This is a victory of the people of the country. They have reposed their faith in Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his leadership. It is the victory of Modiji’s work — from ensuring peace, progress and development to taking strong security measures,” Ambardar told reporters.
He said the resounding mandate in favour of the BJP and the Prime Minister would stamp out terrorism from the Kashmir valley and ensure peace, progress and prosperity in Jammu and Kashmir.
The victory celebrations were also held at BJP headquarters in Kishtwar under the supervision of general secretary BJYM Ashish Sharma where the jubilant party workers burst crackers, distributed sweets and danced on drum beats in praise of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi and party national president Amit Shah.
The party activists were found extremely delighted and enthusiastic while celebrating the landmark victory of its party which broke all the previous records in the country which could be made possible under the stewardship and able guidance of Narendra Modi and Amit Shah thereby marking an indelible impression and magnanimous achievement in the history of nation.
Addressing the party activists BJP president and State secretary said this has become possible because of the great visionary and dynamic leadership of Narendra Modi, he added. In his address he congratulated party leadership for winning with the huge margin in the whole India which proved that all the country men are one to fight against the evil designs of secessionist forces.
He further said that the people accepted Narendra Modi’s policies and welfare programmes whole heartedly and hoped that the nation will definitely touch the new horizon and reach pinnacles of glory and success under the overall supervision, monitoring and control of Modi Ji.
The State secretary said that newly formed Government shall under take necessary steps to remove Article 370 and 35-A from state of J&K as these articles have only given boost towards the spread of fissiparous tendencies and divisive forces in the State and has been cancerous for the State.
In Samba district, a huge number of BJP workers assembled led by former Minister of Health and Medical Education Dr DK Manyal and Chairman of Municipal Committee Samba Pawan Kohli assembled at main chowk Samba. They raised slogan “Har Har Modi” and distributed sweets among the people. The party workers burnt firecrackers and danced on the tunes of ‘Dhol’.
While talking with media persons, Dr DK Mnayal the BJP has made a clean sweep in the polls due to honest governance given by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He said that it is due pro-people policies of Modi Government due to which BJP won Jammu-Poonch, Kathua-Udhampur and Ladakh seats.
Manyal congratulated national party president Amit Shah, State president Ravindra Raina and party workers for the landslide victory. He also thanked people of Jammu and Kashmir to keep faith on Modi and give him a second chance as Prime Minister.
Celebrations of the party’s win also held Arnas, Pouni, Mahore and Katra in Reasi district where BJP workers and supporters distributed sweets among each other and dances on the tune of drums. The victory goes to Modi for his hard work, for his vision, for his pro-poor agenda,” said a BJP worker. The tangible benefits that the poor got because of Modi is what has transpired this election in the way we are seeing,” he said.
In Udhampur, BJP workers celebrated the party’s victory under the leadership of District president Rakesh Gupta. BJP State vice president Pawan Khajuria was specially present. Jubilant BJP workers raised slogans in favor of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and distributed sweets among each other.
Later on BJP leaders and workers took out a victory rally from party office. The rally passed through main bazaar of Udhampur town including Gole Market and Dabbar Chowk. Addressing the party workers, Pawan Khajuria saluted the people of whole country to show their faith in BJP and Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Khajuria also appealed the party cadre to maintain same spirit in coming Assembly elections of the State.
