NEW DELHI : BJP veteran L K Advani today led the party in condoling the demise of former J&K party chief Daya Krishna Kotwal.
Kotwal passed away today after a prolonged illness at the All India Institute of Medical Science (AIIMS) here.
Mr Advani, in a statement, said Kotwal played an important role in strengthening the BJP, especially in North India.
“His death is an irreparable loss for the party workers and people of Jammu and Kashmir. He worked for the country’s unity,” Mr Advani said.
Mr Advani, BJP General Secretary (Organisation) Ramlal and General Secretary J P Nadda paid tributes to Kotwal at the AIIMS.
BJP president Rajnath Singh and senior party leaders Sushma Swaraj and Arun Jaitley talked to the bereaved family over telephone and expressed condolence. (Agencies)
