SAMBA, July 27: Ex-Councilor, Municipal Committee and Ex- vice-president of District Congress Committee (DCC), Samba, Babbal Gupta today said that BJP leaders first backstabbed Jammu people by joining hand with PDP and then snatching the AIIMS from Jammu region.
Addressing a press conference here at Vijaypur, Gupta said that the people of Jammu province had given the mandate to BJP with the belief that its leaders would fulfill their demands and aspirations but the BJP after the election joined hand with PDP and framed coalition Government in J&K and forgot the issues of Jammu people for the sake of chair.
He said that the AIIMS was sanctioned for Jammu and the Kashmiri leaders snatched it while BJP leaders are watching like spectators. He regretted that Deputy Chief Minister Dr Nirmal Singh and Forest Minister Bali Bhagat who had given the written statement to the coordination committee that the AIIMS for Jammu will be announced on or before July 20th otherwise they will resign from their portfolio, are still enjoying the portfolios though they failed to fulfill their commitment.
Gupta said that the coordination committee for AIIMS should take in confidence to the president of Beopar Mandal of town/municipal committees as well as social organizations of Jammu region for making success the ‘Band Call’ which has been announced with effect from July 31 August 2nd.
Rajan Sharma, State secretary, Congress and Bharat Bhushan, president, Beopar Mandal, Vijaypur were also present.
