JAMMU, Feb 16: In connection with celebration of 350th birth anniversary of 10th Sikh Guru Guru Gobind Singh Ji Maharaj an impressive function was organized by BJP Displaced District here, today.
The function was presided by president of the district Chand Ji Bhat. He said Guru Gobind Singh was the only son of ninth Sikh Guru, Guru Tegh Bahadur.
He said Guru Gobind Singh was a spiritual master, warrior, poet and philosopher.
The programme started with bhajan Kirtan which was followed by religious discourses given by various scholars. They while highlighting the significance of Parkash Utsav spoke about the teachings of Guru Gobind Singh Ji Maharaj and the sacrifices of Guru Teg Bahadur.
Paying obeisance to Guru Gobind Singh Ji MLC Surinder Ambardar said the secrets of divinity can be learnt from Gurus alone and it is imperative upon us to follow them and weave a way through the existing turbulence in the world.
Speaking on the occasion senior BJP leader Virenderjit Singh said one who dispels the darkness is Guru and Guru Teg Bahadur and Guru Gobind Singh Ji showed mankind the way how to swim across the ocean of this world.
J L Pandita vice president BJP, Prof Inderjit Singh, Prof Kamal Kashmiri, Avtar Singh, Gurupurab Singh, A K Koul, Ashok Koul , Veena Gurtu, Neeru Zutshi, Ruby Mattoo, Sunil Bhat, Ramesh Koul, Sanjay Bhat and M L Bhat spoke on the occasion.
