BJP holds Sewa Pakhwada at Nandpur, Vijaypur

SAMBA, Sept 23: In continuation of celebration of ‘Sewa Pakhwada’from September 17 to October 2 BJP organised two functions in different parts of the district today.
The BJP Ex-servicemen Cell held a mega event at village Nandpur in Samba district today while Intellectuals meet was organised by the party at Vijaypur in presence of MP Jugal Kishore Sharma, general secretary (Org) Ashok Koul and former Minster, Chander Parkash Ganga.
At Nandpur, Dr Nirmal Singh, Ex Dy CM was the chief guest and Brig Vijay Dheman, (retd) was the guest of honour. On the occasion the gallant soldiers of border areas who made the supreme sacrifice in protecting the nation were remembered.
Dr Davinder Kumar Manyal, former Minister; Rakesh Mahajan, incharge All Cells BJP J&K; Ved Sharma, co convener All Cells and Amar Singh, district president Samba, DGPC Chairman were also present on the occasion.
The event witnessed the presence of a large number of Ex-Servicemen, their families, people from the villages including Vijaypur, Ramgarh, Nandpur, RS Pura and other border areas.
The function commenced with welcome address of Col (retd) Gurbaksh Singh convener of Ex-Servicemen Cell followed by singing of patriotic songs by the children of Higher Secondary School Nandpur. Col Roshan Lal Gangal highlighted various issues faced by Ex-Servicemen.
Dr Nirmal Singh, Ex DyCM, chief guest while addressing the gathering, highlighted the role and importance of veterans in nation building and their significant contribution for the same. He assured the gathering that the points highlighted by them shall be addressed on priority.
Dr Nirmal Singh, while paying rich tribute to Maharaja Hari Singh on his birth anniversary, highlighted his achievements and contributions towards bringing greater transformation in J&K.
Dr Davinder Kumar Manyal; former Health Minister said that there is involving oneself in the selfless service of people is the best way to celebrate PM’s birthday during ‘Sewa Pakhwada’.
Veer Naris were then honoured and Gallantry Award winners were felicitated on the occasion.
At Vijaypur dignitaries put forwarded their views on new J&K after the abrogation of Article 370. Former Minister, Chander Parkash Ganga said,” After PM Modi took reign in 2014 the country in witnessing historic development and cultural renaissance with Ram Mandir being stretch out in Ayodhya and upliftment of the last man standing in the last queue with the schemes like Ujwala Yojna to Kissan Samman Nidhi.
