BJP has lost all its credibility to call itself a party that is nationalist or patriotic: Swara Bhasker

NEW DELHI: Attacking the BJP on comments by its Bhopal candidate Pragya Thakur against Malegaon terror attack martyr Hemand karkare, Bollywood actor Swara Bhasker on Saturday said the BJP has lost all its credibility to call itself a party that is nationalist or patriotic in any way.

In a hard-hitting reaction to the Sadhvi’s comment that it was her ‘curse’ that led to Maharashtra police officer Hemant Karkare being killed, while fighting the Mumbai terror attack of November 2008, Swara said,”The pressure of being stuck because a terror accused fielded by ur own party just abused and insulted a national hero who laid down his life for the nation. And finally the country has seen that #SaffronTerrorIsReal Let the nation not forget that Pragya Thakur is NOT ACQUITTED.”

”I am absolutely shocked and ashamed to be at this point a voter in an election where a political terrorist is being fielded by the ruling party in a really important mainstream seat like Bhopal. Let’s be clear: Pragya Thakur has not been acquitted. She is charged under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act,” she said.

”I really want to ask the BJP which has made such a din about being a party against terrorism, and about nationalism, and has been branding people anti-national-how dare you talk about nationalism or about dealing with terrorism?” she said. (AGENCIES)
