JAMMU, Dec 16: Former Minister and senior Congress leader, Mula Ram exhorted the party workers to gear up for the forthcoming Parliamentary and Assembly elections in the State.
He was speaking at the meeting organised by Hari Singh Chib, President District Congress Committee, Jammu Rural, at Paloura in Raipur-Domana Constituency today
The former Minister said that the previous Government led by BJP has been miserably failed to provide basic amenities like water, power and ration to the people of the State. He said that BJP was unsuccessful in representing the sentiments and deliver the promises it made to the electorate during 2014 Assembly elections and had been merely indulging in rhetoric to emotionally charge the people for their political interests.
“BJP has taken people of Jammu region for granted and has failed to recognize the developmental priorities and represent the aspirations of the people,” Mula Ram said, adding that there is a strong resentment among the people against previous Government as it has not fulfilled its promises made at the time of Assembly elections.
The former Minister exhorted the party workers to make people aware about the peace, prosperity and secular policies of the Congress, so that the communal forces, who are trying to create a wedge between communities, are given befitting reply in the forthcoming Assembly elections.
Hari Singh Chib, asserted that the Congress Party under the leadership of Rahul Gandhi is capable of addressing grievances of all the sections of society. He asked the people of Raipur-Domana Constituency to teach BJP a lesson for depriving common masses of their democratic rights in the forthcoming elections.
