BJP failed to give Constitutional protection to J&K youth: Sadhotra

JAMMU, Aug 29: Former Minister and senior National Conference leader Ajay Sadhotra has expressed serious concern over BJP’s failure to give Constitutional protection to Jammu, Kashmir, Ladakh youth in jobs.
In a press statement here today, NC leader said after abrogation of Article 370 and Article 35-A, lion’s share of the jobs in the state shall go to the youth of the rest of the country as it is next to impossible for Jammu, Kashmir, Ladakh youth to compete the Metropolitan Cities taught youth of the country.
National Conference leader said BJP has ignored the interests of the youth of Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh. It has caused frustration and disappointment among youth of the state. Thus, BJP has pushed youth towards wall which is not in the interest of the country and the state as it will lead to alienation.
Sadhotra said BJP instead of appreciating the wisdom and vision of the then Maharaja for introducing Permanent Resident Certificate law in the State and subsequently introduction of Article 35-A, after independence, legal protection to the youth of the State to seek jobs, has gone for its scrapping. “Our state is a backward. We are already facing acute unemployment problem. BJP’s failure in giving legal protection to youth in jobs shall further increase unemployment problem,” Sadhotra said.
National Conference leader assured the youth that National Conference has always fought for the genuine cause of the youth and committed to further fight for their bright and secured future and shall emphasize upon the Government to restore legal protection for jobs under the Constitution, to the youth of Jammu, Kashmir, Ladakh.
Sadhotra appealed youth to keep cool, calm and maintain communal brotherhood at all costs.
