BJP expresses resentment over issues with PDP in Cabinet meet

JAMMU: BJP on Tuesday expressed resentment over some of the important issues with its coalition partner, the ruling Peoples Democratic Party during a cabinet meeting chaired by the chief minister Mehbooba Mufti here at the Civil Secretariat.
As per reliable sources BJP raised an issue of appointment of Additional Deputy Commissioner exclusively for Kotranka tehsil. “We raised the ADC issue in the cabinet and asked the alliance partner either to appoint the ADCs at all tehsils or remove him from the already created post,” a BJP minister on the condition of anonymity here said.
He said that a proposal was putforth that either the government should have made an arrangement of rotating the same ADC in all the four tehsils on weekly engagement or have appointed separate officers. Pertinent to mention here that after protests sparked, the Government had appointed two ADCs on rotational basis for two tehsils each which has been rejected by the locals in the Rajouri district who are on protest for the past more than a month.
Meanwhile the minister also revealed that an issue of minutes of meeting on Tribal Welfare Policy held in the month of February was also discussed. “As per minutes of meetings, directions were passed allegedly that nomads sitting on the state lands will not have to vacate it unless the policy comes into offing,” said the BJP minister.
He said, “our colleague and junior minister was also present in the meeting but he was neither taken into confidence nor the minutes were disclosed to him.”
“We have raised objection on this as the minutes were made public by an advocate during a press conference and it triggered controversy,” said the senior BJP minister.
He said, “we are answerable to the peole of Jammu region on many issues.” Meanwhile an issue of handing over minor nomad girl’s rape and murder case of Village Rasana in Hiranagar tehsil of Kathua district to the CBI was also discussed during the cabinet meeting. (AGENCIES)
