BJP duped Jammu people on AIIMS, Smart City: Harsh

Excelsior Correspondent
JAMMU, Sept 5: Former Minister and chairman of the Jammu and Kashmir National Panthers Party Harshdev Singh has alleged that BJP has cheated the people of Jammu region on the issues of AIIMS and Smart City.
Talking to media-persons here today Mr Singh alleged that AIIMS was basically sanctioned to Jammu but it went to Kashmir as BJP leadership totally surrendered the interests of Jammu people to Kashmir leadership. He said NPP had filed an RTI on 23.06.2015, seeking a copy of the order/ notification issued for the Establishment of newly sanctioned AIIMS from the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Govt of India, towards which the concerned office provided an information on 26.08.2015 replying that only one AIIMS has been sanctioned for J&K State along with other states.
Further, another three point RTI application dated 05.08.2015 was filed by the NPP seeking a copy of the order by virtue of which 2nd AIIMS was sanctioned for J&K in case two AIIMS were to be established in J&K and the details thereof from the aforesaid Ministry, towards which the concerned office provided the information on 01.09.2015 replying that no such information existed as on date.
Mr Singh said that keeping these two replies by the Ministry of Health it was now very clear that no such orders had been passed for establishment of second AIIMS in the region and the bitter truth was that the BJP had totally surrendered Jammu based issues before its unholy partner PDP for the mere lust of power.
Infuriated by the denial of even a single Smart City to J&K under the Central Govt’s 100 ‘Smart Cities’ project by the Union Ministry for Housing and Urban Development, Mr Singh pointed out that out of 36 States and Union Territories, J&K alone was excluded from the mega project, He said that Jammu city had a superior claim for the Smart City and fulfilled the criteria, as against Srinagar in view of higher population, and most importantly around 70% share in the total revenue generation in the State comes from Jammu by way of VAT, Sales Tax, Excise duty, Motor vehicle Tax, Toll Tax, Stamp Duty, Entry Tax and Power tariff. He said BJP was continuing to honeymoon with their ministerial berths in the ruling coalition by betraying the mandate and aspirations of the people of Jammu region.
He disclosed that NPP leaders along with hundreds of activists shall be leaving for New Delhi to hold the protest demonstrations outside the Parliament and the residence of Union Ministers on the issue of Smart City on Monday.
