JAMMU, June 18: Former MLC and grandson of Maharaja Hari Singh, Vikramaditya Singh today criticized the BJP leaders for showing disrespect to founder of the State, Maharaja Gulab Singh by boycotting the event of Foundation Day of the State at Jia Pota, Akhnoor.
Vikramaditya pointed out that despite BJP State president and MLAs being invited as guests of honour to mark this historic day, they chose to boycott the event. He said that the BJP as a party which is seen as representing Jammu, to be visibly absent on a day that marks respect to the founder of Jammu & Kashmir State and the Dogras as a whole, shows a complete lack of sensitivity and concern for sentiments of people of Jammu.
Furthermore, citing the dismissal by the State Government for public demand of holiday on Maharaja Hari Singh’s birth anniversary, Vikramaditya said that the BJP has once again let down the aspirations of the people of Jammu.
He raised several core issues relating to Jammu province and emphasized that Government must focus on resolving demands and concerns of people of Jammu.
