BJP day dreaming to grab Jammu seats: Balbir

KATHUA, May 27: Senior Congress leader and Member Legislative Council (MLC), Thakur Balbir Singh today said that BJP is day dreaming to re-grab Assembly seats in Jammu region like previous elections.
Addressing a public meeting at Dhabi village in tehsil Dinga Amb in Billawar constituency today, Balbir Singh said that BJP leadership in J&K should keep in mind that they have come out winners on both Jammu seats only on the crutches of Narendra Modi. Their individual grim performance has totally exposed them before the public. He said credit of winning Udhampur-Doda and Jammu-Poonch seats goes to Modi and both the winning candidates also know it well.
Referring to recent statements of state BJP president Ravinder Raina, the Cong MLC said, BJP should stop day dreaming for forming next Govt in J&K. He said Jammu BJP leaders have betrayed the people of Jammu and stabbed them in the back despite receiving massive support of 25 MLA seats. He cautioned that Assembly elections would be a totally different situation now and the BJP should not expect big win like 2014 this time.
The Congress leader alleged that Jammu BJP leadership proved liability on the people of Jammu and Central party leadership. Therefore, they preferred fall of their own Government deliberately as their legislators had proved as utter failures. Amid allegations of rising corruption, favouritism, mal-practices, mis-governance and injustice with Jammu and Ladakh, Central leadership in Delhi was forced to pull out in J&K from Govt and preferred Governor rule. But unfortunately, current administration has also been proved as `proxy of BJP’. He said that Congress leadership was keeping close eye on the activities of the Governor’s Administration and will expose, in case any discrimination meted out to the people of Jammu.
Several local Sarpanchs and Panchs raised the issues of water scarcity, long power cuts and worst condition of road in the area.
