KATHUA, Apr 12: Former Minister, Ch Lal Singh (Ex-MP) assailed the Congress and NC for dividing communities of Jammu province on communal lines and maintained that they failed to fulfill promises made with the people in hilly and order areas.
Addressing an election rally at Kathua today, Dogra Swabhimaan Sangathan (DSS) leader Ch Lal Singh said that these parties should not test the patience of the people as all these political parties have failed to deliver. The people living in rural and remote areas are facing a lot of problems due to lack of basic facilities and infrastructure, due to betrayal of political parties.
Lal Singh further said that people are fed up from all the parties who always cheated them in the name of development. Their leaders failed to fulfill promises made with people before elections. Most of the leaders also prefer to stay in Delhi after winning the elections. It is a matter of grave concern that even after seven decades of independence, people of the hilly areas are suffering for want of basic facilities.
Launching attack on BJP, Lal Singh said that BJP has failed to fulfill the promises made with the border dwellers and the condition has become worst due to cross border shelling, forcing them to leave their houses. The Government had promised to provide them five-marla plots at safer places besides constructing bunkers for their security, but all promises proved rhetoric, as nothing was done for welfare of border dwellers.
But if the DSS wins the elections the party will make sure that separate townships for the border dwellers will be constructed. Further, he said that daily rated workers, need based workers and casual labourers working in various departments were forced to work like bonded labourers.
Lal Singh on his arrest by the DC Doda said that, it was a complete murder of democracy. It has saddened and hurt me that I was not allowed for attending the cremation of my beloved friend and social leader at Kishtwar. In spite of cancelling all election campaign meetings, I was not allowed to move by DC Doda and when I asked the authorities that what will happen if I will attend the funeral of my beloved friend then I was informed that the authorities have directions from their bosses. It was and diabolic attempt to silence my voice but the people of Kathua, Doda and Udahmpur will take revenge of this incident with the ballots on April 18. Ch Lal Singh urged the people to show the strength of the Dogras in the elections by voting in favor of DSS.
