JAMMU, Sept 19:  With a highly dominant PDP dictating terms on almost all issues to its  ally BJP, the Jammu region had witnessed the most baneful era of neglect and prejudice during the last three years and as never experienced before.
This was claimed by NPP chairman and former minister Harsh Dev Singh  while addressing public gathering at Ramnagar today. He said with all major decisions being taken by the Kashmir centric leadership, the Jammu based BJP Ministers were reduced to mere ornamental pieces in the unholy ruling alliance. Be it the issue of employment, PSC selections, Lakhanpur Toll Plaza, Dogra certificate, one constitution and one flag, Article 370, State subjects  to WPRs etc, the BJP leaders had made one compromise after the other thus making the most contemptuous mockery of the great sacrifices made by its past leadership.
Lambasting the BJP minister for their ‘criminal silence’  over the issue of holiday on September 23, Singh reminisced that the same leaders would call for protests, bandhs and agitations while in opposition over the issue nailing all other political parties for their indecision and inaction. But once in power ,they beat a nasty hasty retreat, said Harsh Dev.
Likewise, the cleverly guarded statements of BJP leadership over the issues of Art 35A and Rohingyas deportation had caused huge public resentment and exposed  it for its duplicity and double standards. He said that with all its election time promises proving a damp squib, the BJP had not only lost the confidence of the people but also its right to continue in power.
Taking a pot-shot at the haughty claims of the BJP Govt on curbing inflationary tendencies, Singh said that the soaring prices especially of essential commodities had proved the most menacing threat to the common man. He said that raging inflation in pulses, vegetables, cereals, Sugar, Atta and other items of daily use had caused immense hardships for the poor, indigent masses making even two square meals difficult for them.
Later Harsh Dev visited Sub District Hospital Ramnagar in view of multifarious complaints about its working and took the feedback from patients about the existing facilities therein. He was pained to see the extremely shabby condition of wards and washrooms besides the filthy condition of beds provided to patients.
