BJP, AAP activists join Congress

JAMMU/AKHNOOR, Sept 9: Former AAP Spokesperson and various leaders from ruling BJP as well as social activists today joined the Indian National Congress and posed their faith in the leadership of Rahul Gandhi.
In the leadership of former Dy Chief Minister Tara Chand, political activists from BJP and Aam Admi Party joined Congress before Pradesh Congress President, Vikar Rasool Wani.
Speaking on the occasion, Vikar Rasool Wani said that Congress Party is an instrument of service to the people, which has remained dedicated to the cause of serving the people. He said Congress Party is duty bound to address the urges and aspirations of the people.
He described BJP dispensation as anti-poor and anti development, saying due to administrative inertia and lack of political direction the sufferings of the people increased manifold. The insensitive Government pushed people to the wall, as unemployment has increased, prices have risen and developmental activities have suffered a lot, he added.
Former Dy Chief Minister Tara Chand said that the people of Jammu region feel utterly cheated and betrayed for the failure of BJP leaders to represent and agitate their concerns. He said that people who want to contribute to the political discourse and development of J&K must become part of the Congress’s growth story.
“The doors are open for the people who want to contribute in the party’s efforts to see the state out of the present mess,” he said. He appealed to the people to strengthen the hands of Congress party by supporting Congress candidates in the upcoming ULB elections , adding that it will be a vote against the broken promises of BJP.
Those who joined Congress, included Jagan Nath (Panch Tanda Akhnoor) BJP; Ritesh Gupta ( Social Activist), Ankush Dubey ( City President Akhnoor), Sanjeev Kumar ( Social Activist), Mohd Gafoor (Tanda Akhnoor), Gafoor Ahmed (Tanda Akhnoor), Sahil Bhagat, (Youth activist), Rohan (BJP Yuva Morcha), Anil Kumar (Jourian), Abhishek Kumar (BJP Yuva Morcha), Parshotam Sharma (Khour), Sumit Sharma (Khour), Uttam Kumar (Khour), Puneet Gupta (Akhnoor), Balwinder Singh (BJP Yuva Morcha), Rajinder Kumar (Akhnoor) , Satpal (BJP Yuva Morcha).
Senior Congress leaders Lala Bansi Lal Gupta, Rashpaul Singh, Jagattar Singh and others were present on the occasion.
Meanwhile, at Jammu, former Chief Spokesperson AAP, Jagdeep Singh, along with some Sarpanchs and Panchs joined the Congress party in presence of Vikar Rasool Wani along with Raman Bhalla and others at Jammu. Besides Jagdeep Singh, others who joined Congress on the occasion, included Sansar Chand, Sukhdev, Gurdeep Singh, Raj Kumari, Gurdev Singh, Ramesh Chander Sharma, Raj Kumar and Gurcharan Singh.
